Amanda Oleander

Amanda Oleander is an author-illustrator celebrated for her art and storytelling. Her latest children's books include Oh! Hello in There!, Look! A Spider!, and Benny Plays.

She gained widespread recognition for her popular series of over 800 illustrations that delve into the intricacies of the human experience and the profound connections that bind us. Her art has been featured by Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair, and TEDx.

Amanda's passion for art and storytelling began since she could first hold a pencil. Her love for children's literature blossomed during grade school, where she dreamed of becoming an author. As a child, she filled the blank pages of her Shel Silverstein books with illustrations and poems and spent countless nights and weekends writing and illustrating stories. In 2021, as she anticipated the arrival of her son, Amanda experienced a resurgence of inspiration and began creating stories for him. She believes that art drawn from genuine personal moments carries an inherent magic and soul.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Amanda earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduation, she moved to California and worked as a full-time illustrator for E! Entertainment. Within a year, she transitioned to pursuing her art independently and hasn’t looked back, with next year marking a decade of working on her own. Today, Amanda continues to create art, exhibit in galleries, and showcase her work—most recently in a solo exhibition at The Rockefeller Center's Beka Museum. She lives in California with her family, where she continues to create art and stories. With the support of an online community of over 1.2 million and artwork that has been shipped to over 100 countries, Amanda Oleander’s work continues to touch people around the world.
